On Saturday 20 August we had the best turnout yet to one of our party/meetings. Over 80 people enjoyed paella thanks to Don Turner.
We reported that, so far, 40 people have completed our questionnaire, promising nearly £70,000, all of which is very encouraging (see the report elsewhere on the website).
We now plan to explore the option of an improved offer of a tenancy from Edward Bolton to see if that changes the balance of opinion (currently strongly in favour of pressing on to buy the freehold if we can) among people responding the questionnaire. We also plan now to get professional valuation advice, and possibly advice on other technical matters such as the tax position of investments. We hope that those people who have said they will complete questionnaires but who have not yet done so will do so soon – we really need to maintain the momentum if we are to raise the funds to buy the pub. Anyone with relevant technical skills able to help should please let us know.
