The party/meeting on Saturday went well. About 75 people came and we made a good go of drinking the bar dry.
There was also a very positive initial discussion about where things have got to with the pub and the possibility of a village initiative to buy the pub and run it as a community pub in the event that no-one else comes forward.
We circulated a copy of the leaflet and questionnaire which is available on this web site under “documents and resources”. It would be great if anyone who did not come along or who did not fill one in would like to do so now. Just email it back to us using our contact email (froth@charsfield.org.uk) and your answers will be added to the others to help us plan next steps. The people who completed the forms on the night (and posted ideas on the “ideas wall”) came up with many suggestions, all helpful. Almost all also completed the form to say that they would consider investing if the terms are satisfactory.
The FROTH steering group will be considering those responses further and discussing next steps at our next steering group meeting this Friday at 8pm in the village hall. Do let us know if there is anything you would wish to feed in to the process at this stage. We will send round periodic updates after that.
The next party/meeting is now the evening of Saturday 23 July. And a further date has also been set for another party/meeting on Saturday 20 August. We do hope that as many of you as possible will be able to come along.
Following the party/meeting on Saturday we now have an impressive email contact list of 110 people/families.
